Online Catalogue

Search the LRC catalogue for information about our books, DVD and journal article holdings

The on-line catalogue is available from any internet connected machine. For help with searching use the Heritage Online on-screen Help, or contact the LRC staff.

You can also search the catalogue from the stand alone machine in the LRC South Room.

Finding books

As you search the catalogue, note down the Dewey classmarks (‘CLASS’) of the books you would like. Also check that they are “Available”.
Now use the signs in the LRC to find the appropriate room and shelf.

Finding films

To see a complete list of our feature films, just go to the Heritage Online CatalogueType “feature film” into the search box, then click ‘Search’.
On the results page, check the right-hand column to see where a film is located (it may be in the LRC’s Entrance Hall or in the South Room).
If the film is currently “Available”, you can borrow it.

Finding hardcopy journal articles

First go to the Heritage Online Catalogue.  In the search box, enter the title of a particular journal, surrounded by quotation marks, e.g. “Biological Sciences Review” followed by your keyword/sOn the results page check the location.  All of the journals are Reference Only.  Individual articles can be photocopied or scanned.  Please note, not all of the hardcopy journal articles have been added to the catalogue.

Finding Online journal articles

All of the Philip Allan Review content is also available online via Athens – Philip Allan Magazines Online.

Biological Sciences, Business Review, Chemistry Review, English Review, Geography Review, Law Review, Modern History Review, Physics Review, Politics Review, Psychology Review, Sociology Review

A vast range of online full text journals, covering the whole range of subjects, is available via Athens including Gale Learning Schools Package, JSTOR and ProQuest News.  See here for further information.
